A Lesson in Mercy: God is Forgiving

One man's extraordinary near death experience and the hope he discovered in the mercy of God.

Years back when I was younger I was watching an episode of Unsolved Mysteries. In this particular episode which was a special edition they had the story of a man who had a near death experience. While many people say they have had near death experiences this one was frightening. Needless to say it stuck in my memory

His Story

The man had been an atheist for most of his adult life, but after dying on a hospital operating table in the middle of surgery when the doctors revived him he was a changed man.

He also had an extraordinarily frightening story to tell and a vivid recollection of the reality of Hell.

The man shared his story in hopes that it would serve as a wake up call. He said that he called out to God in the most fervent prayer he ever prayed, and God saved him.

Yes, God, the Loving creator that the man had before scorned had mercy on him.

I share that story to say this, God Loves his children, all we must do is have faith and seek His Will. I pray today that if you are reading this your heart is open to God's calling.

Jesus came to seek and save. It is not His will that any perish but that all would come to repentance.

As I have quoted several times Hebrews 3:15 "While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation."

If right now God is working in your heart, then Listen,

and God Bless.

Why is it so darned important that in order for me to believe in God, I must do it your way. Even though, doing it my way has held me in very good stead for many years.

David Jesus said He is the Way the Truth and the Life and No one comes to the Father Except by Him, He loves you, as he Loves us all,He is the Life giving Son of God, waiting with open arms for those who would seek Him

OK, so what story did he tell? I missed the frightening story part and the vivid recollection of the reality of hell part. Also not sure where the saved part comes in--if Heaven is so cool then wouldn\'t it be nicer to \"save\" him by bringing him in there and giving the guy an umbrella drink or a glimpse at universal love or whatever it is that makes heaven so nice? Also I would be very curious to find out exactly why hell is unpleasant. I mean, you hear stories about bad stuff there, but I haven\'t really met anybody who knows the place very well--or maybe they don\'t talk about it.

I myself am an Athiest, and I don't know of people who scorn what they don't believe in.

(my hearts open to whatever tries to enter, but I never heard anything in my years of being a Catholic)

Good article though.

Jupiter, you have quite the insight on things. I have had the great fortune to attend Methodist,Baptist, Presbyterian, Catholic, and even a Hebrew temple. God does exist. When I was born, I was given about 4 months to live. That was in 1967. Here I am now, and my health is good. Did I beat the odds, or is there something more? Whether it is God or NOT, there is a higher power out there.
Great article, and once again, thanks for listening to my music. (Which is a gift I have from..... I wonder).

Dear Curious, The story that he told was of people in hell screaming and all types of terror, unimaginable to humanity in this physical world, Hell is very real, and very eternal. However, Eternal Life in Heaven is God's gift to the faithful, and it is Also Eternal,As for the Man's salvation, when He cried out in prayerful petition God heard him and lifted him up out of Hell, Christ came to seek and to Save, so today my dear reader I ask this, Is your heart open? and which will you choose?

P.S. Curious, as for what makes heaven great, read the Bible and seek that knowledge ask God to reveal himself, and His will for your life, God Loves you. One of these days I will share with you my testimony of how He has worked in my life,

God Bless all who read this

Jupiter, thank you for sharing your true story. It is a shame that so many harden their hearts because God has so much for us.
