How blessed are we to have so many Christian workers? The obvious ones fulfill various needs in the church: deacons, ministers of the various church groups, the pastor, but how many other Christian workers do we truly notice each day?
We see Christ in the teacher who spends her own paycheck on school supplies and stays late with no overtime to tutor that one special student. We see Him in Salvation Army works, missionaries, and my personal favorite: the workers and volunteers who dedicate themselves to helping the disabled. How can we help these caring and selfless individuals? With prayer.
When we pray for Christian workers, God sends his Holy Spirit to give them the strength necessary to make doing these tasks possible. He comforts them, heals them, shields them from the stress and harshness they must overcome everyday as they strive to be living examples of His son, Jesus. Don't just thank them. Go to war for them. Call upon God every day to give them everything they need to do their jobs more effectively.
