Isn't it this lack that gets people with rising bills to get depressed and do something crazy . Isn't it money that makes the Mafia to do what they do. Isn't it the lack of money that initially drives young girls to prostitute themselves and young men to turn to violence?
When some preachers talk about prosperity , those both in the church and outside the church are quick to accuse him of talking about money. Believing the false myth that men of God, or Christians are not meant to be wealthy or financially prosperous. If not Christians, who then? Those that produce pornography and promote immorality? The alcohol companies who put drinks in the hands of those that get drunk and become driving nightmares. The condom companies that promote promiscuity as long as you are "strapped".
People that say money isn't everything obviously never had enough. Money isn't everything, but it ranks right up there with air. Even the Bible says "Money answereth all things". No matter how righteous you are , or how powerful a prayer warrior you are, you still need money to live. You need money to buy food, pay your bills, transport yourself , send your kids to school and a number of things. fund missionaries and the work of God ,helping those that can't help themselves, widows, elderly the handicapped. If we are barely surviving ourselves, how on earth can we help others.
Jesus talked about money more than anything else. He used money as an analogy in many of his parables. The Bible says beloved i pray that you prosper even as thy soul prosper. Does any one really think that God wants us to barely get by on earth so we can enjoy later on in heaven. If so , why is Heaven paved with streets of Gold, why does Jesus declare "in my father's house there are many mansions there". If God doesn't like money why doesn't Christ instead say " in my father's house there are many trailer parks" . Why aren't the streets of Heaven paved with mud or flint instead of Gold. If money was so unimportant , how come Jesus had a treasurer? Many are deluded into thinking that "Jesus was broke , he didn't have money". That is just plain dumb, how many of us have treasurers, can some one that doesn't have money have a treasurer? After the crucifixion , the soldier played a game of craps ( gambled) to see who would get Jesus clothes, that shows the worth of the garments, must have been worth quite a lot.
It greatly disturbs me that many so called "men of God" come out public into the secular world to condemn some respected pastors and ministers , who are preaching to the church that they do not need to be broke. Tagged prosperity preachers they are smeared and attacked for their message and success. First of all they should spend more time reading their bibles. in the word it states that " if you have grief with one of the brethren go and meet him, and then to the elders of the church" in essence it says you should "settle it amongst yourselves in the Church" and not on CNN,FOX or ABC. Such action can only raise questions on the validity of the sanctimonious publicity seekers.
The belief that money changes people can be disproved in so many examples. One of them being Richard Branson. He is one of the simplest men you could ever come across. No entourage, no diamonds and extravagant limousines. Sometimes he can be seen wearing a simple T Shirt and Jeans. Some people earning £6.50/Hour try to dress more expensively. Berkshire founder, Warren Buffet, is amongst the richest men in the world, and he has given away more than half of his fortune. He isn't leaving much to his kids because he does not believe money should not determine your place in life or society. Bill Gates , the richest man in the world regularly donates to charity and funds medical research. Money doesn't change people, it only magnifies who you are. If you were a greedy little mongrel before you had money, you will be a bigger greedy mongrel when you have more money.
Doesn't the bible speak of different gifts? Is every single pastor in the world to have a ministry that focuses soley on salvation. Don't get it twisted , Salvation is essential in the Arsenal of any Pastor, but after salvation what then?
87% of the average congregation of a church consist of regular members who have already heard the message of salvation. Not all of them may have accepted it, but they know what it's about. What next. What happens whose marriage is falling apart, what about those whose kids are in gangs or on drugs. Those who are depressed and frustrated. Those who are working three jobs, and still in danger of losing their homes because they can't pay the mortgage? What message do you have for them. What is the point of saving your soul if you have to bee harassed helpless and hopeless while you are here? Wouldn't it get a little old to hear the same pre memorised message every single time you came to Church, you might as well by a tape ,sit at home and listen to it.
