The concept of an all loving God is out there, but it has not been grasped by mankind. Christianity teaches that God is all loving and forgiving, but does not actually believe it. The proof is their portrayal of God as being a divine deity that we must love, honor and obey, but must also fear at the same time. Is it really possible to love something that you fear?
When I say to people that there is nothing to fear from God, they do not understand how I could possibly think that. People will tell me stories of how God has punished them or someone they know simply because of their lack of faith and that God should be feared for the punishments and tragedies He will inflict upon us through his wrath and displeasure of our actions.
Not for one minute can I understand the logic behind that train of thought. If you look at God from a rational and reasonable point of view, you will understand two things; God is divinity that exists in a state of the pure white light of love, in a completely positive atmosphere, and, God is not human nor capable of human emotion.
By believing that God is anything less than a divine loving light in our life could be called slander or character assassination. So if He does not punish us, why do these terrible things happen in our lives and why does prayer and begging forgiveness sometimes help? The answer is not as hard as you may think.
First you must understand that it is not God who sends us here or plans out our life and purpose. We, the children of God, love Him so much and wish to aspire to His greatness for our own spiritual advancement. We choose to come to earth on our own. The free will that God created each and every one of us with gives us this option and we are never forced to do anything against our will, including living a life on earth.
By choosing to live a life on earth, we are choosing to experience for God, for God is knowledge, and each life we live and share with God, gives Him more and more knowledge. We all know that knowledge is power and this is where we help God experience. In Heaven, where the atmosphere is peaceful and positive, there is only so much that we can learn. Since negativity in any form does not and will never exist in Heaven, we must come to earth to experience the harsher lessons in life.
Basically, we draw up a life contract with God, outlining every experience we wish to learn from to achieve our own spiritual growth on the Other Side. Even the tragedies we face are of our own choosing as hard as that may be to believe. It makes no sense you may think, why would we purposely do this to ourselves? The answer is, because God won't.
God's love for each and every one of us is so pure, infinite and unconditional, that He would never willing do anything to harm or punish us in any way. So, we design our own life with the idea of spiritual growth in mind. We place into our lives people, places, and events that are meant to help us evolve on a higher spiritual level, and we are completely confident that we are up to the challenges we set before us. After all, on the Other Side, everything seems possible.
It is only once we arrive here that we may think the trials in our life are too much to bare and since we can not fathom we would do this to ourselves, we blame God instead. We figure that He is somehow punishing us, but we can never figure out why? That is when we can easily get lost and stray from the love of God, doubting His existence or His importance in our lives.
In Heaven, God represents light, love and eternal spiritual happiness. He possess all the good qualities we as humans aspire to obtain. On earth, God is to be feared, honored and obeyed. He possess' all the negative human qualities mankind is capable of feeling and is proficient of unspeakable acts of vengeance and wrath.
Something is wrong with that picture. I love God with every inch of my soul. Not for one second do I question His constant presence in my life, nor do I blame Him for the difficult events and issues that have taken place during my lifetime. I understand that I created these circumstances specifically to enhance my spiritual growth and that God has always stood by me to pick me up when I fall and comfort me when I lose faith.
I know without doubt that my God is the God of unconditional love and under no circumstances do I ever fear Him. I can not truly love what I fear and I truly love God. Understanding that He is not the one responsible for the hardships in my life somehow makes the lessons easier to learn. Now when something bad happens I do not blame God or ask him why? Instead I ask myself what it was I intended to learn from the experience and do my best to continue on. I only wish that more people could grasp the concept and understand the God of love that I have come to know is not to be feared. Instead, He makes life so much easier to bare.
