We are so very fortunate to be blessed with angels in our life on a daily basis, yet we are unaware of their constant presence. Very few people understand the proper function and purpose of angels in our life. Nor are we aware of how often these blessed entities intervene on our behalf, or of the wonderful comfort they can bring us.
As with many of the stories put forth by the Christianity, angels have been highly misunderstood and grossly misrepresented. During my Christian upbringing I have learned that when we die, our souls go to Heaven where we earn our wings and become angels. It's a nice story with a worthwhile reward in the end, but it is not true.
We are spirits and angels are angels. They are created from the same perfect loving light that is the essence of God the same as we all are. Although we are both creations of Gods, we are entirely different species. Angels do not incarnate on earth as we do ~ ever. They do not experience the negative side of human emotion, nor do they encounter all the tests and trials we do during our personal journeys toward Gods perfection. Angels work for God on an entirely independent and separate level then we do. If it helps you, think of it like this; human souls and angels are both spiritual entities that are separate species. Just like the Chihuahua and the Doberman are both dogs, but different species, and one of them will never become the other.
The pure and simple fact is, angels are Gods personal army, for they are the defenders and protectors of human souls reacting on Gods behalf and by His will. Of all the holy armies that ever marched in the name of God, angels are His only righteous troops. Their divine and loving way is the only true way to fight for God ~ through peace. War and bloodshed will never bring us closer to God then love and compassion.
Unlike our spiritual souls, angels are quite distinct in presence and essence. There are many moments in time when angels visibly appear before human eyes ~ especially if you are aware of their constant existence in our lives. If you are ever blessed with the visible presence of an angel, you will immediately recognize that they are a truly divine and separate creation of Gods. Angels literally sparkle from head to toe with the pure white light of God that fills their entire celestial being. Their unique luminescence seems to glow from the inside out and their wings can be colored depending on the type of angel that comes to you. They are an unmistakable, calming, divine sight when they appear before us in aid, comfort and protection.
Angels have been blessed with the most beautiful voices ~ but they do not speak. Telepathy is the form of communication they use whether speaking to us or each other for the beauty and tone of their voices are far too magical to be wasted on speech. The rejuvenating vibrations of their glorious voices are reserved strictly for singing the praises of God, in God's Holy Choir. There has only been one time in the history of mankind when the angels voices were overheard on earth by human ears. It was during the moment of celebration on the Other Side when Jesus Christ was born on earth. The angels sang and rejoiced with such jubilance that their mystical tones spilled over from the Other Side and were heard all the way to the lower realm of earth.
When we choose to participate in life on earth, as part of the incarnation package we leave Home with, God sends His protection with us in the form of angels. Everyone of us has our own angels, assigned by God, who remain by our sides our entire lifetime on earth. Standing vigilantly on guard, protecting and comforting us at all times. Have you ever found yourself in a dire situation and not been able to explain how or why you did not get hurt or die? That is just one small (but obvious) example of an angel protecting you. They are our constant and dedicated protectors and that is why it bothers me when I read about them in the bible and find they have been humanized the same way they humanized God. While I am on the subject of the bible I would like to add that no where in this book does it actually say we become angels when we go to Heaven.
One of the most prominent depictions of angels in the bible is the story of archangel Michael when he appeared to Zacharias, then Mary, respectively, found in the book of Luke. Archangel appeared before them to proclaim the up coming births of their sons. When Michael first appeared before Zacharias, he was getting much older in his years, and his wife Elisabeth had always been barren. In the King James version of the bible Luke 1: 1-25 tells this story, but I will only include some key quotes here.
