You once lived in the secrecy of darkness, but now you live in the light of Christ. Walk now, as children of light, for the blessings of the spirit of God are found in all good things, in righteousness, and in truth, so find out what's truly acceptable to God. You shouldn't have companionship with unprofitable acts of deceit, but rather, you should expose evil. For though it's shameful to speak of what "s done by evil people in secrecy, if all things that are revealed are made plain by the illumination of the Word of God, whatever clarifies it is light. Therefore, God says:
Awake, you who are asleep,
Arise from the deadness of your sin,
And Christ will enlighten your spirit.
See then that you walk with purpose, not foolishly, but wisely, buying your time carefully, because the days are evil. So, don"t be ignorant, but understand what the will of God is. Don't be drunken with liquor, for it's only a destructive pleasure, but be filled with the Holy Spirit, speaking to one another in songs and hymns, and with spiritual songs, sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks for everything, to Yahweh God, in the name of Yeshua, the Christ, yielding to one another out of reverence for God. (Eph.5:8-21)
Don't be fooled: Devilish companions only corrupt your good habits. Awake to righteousness, and don't sin. I say this to your shame, for some of you really don't know God. (I Cor. 15: 33-34)
Be under no obligation, except to love one another, for those who love others, accomplish the demands of the law. For the commands of God, Do not act adulterously, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not testify falsely, Do not desire what rightfully belongs to others, and if there is any other commandment, all are summarized in this statement, particularly, Love others as you love yourself. Love never harms anyone, so it accomplishes what the law was originally intended to do. Do all this, knowing the time that now it is high time to awake out of your slumber, for now our deliverance is closer than we once believed. The night is far gone; the day is now here. So let us uncover the secretive works of darkness, and let us cover ourselves with the protection of the light. Let us walk appropriately, as in broad daylight, not in carousing and drunkenness, not with thoughtless plans and physical cravings, not in fighting and jealousy. But cover yourselves with the righteousness of Yeshua, the Christ, and don't make any allowances for bodily pleasures or act on those desires. (Rom 13:8-14)
And again Yeshua spoke to them saying, I am the light of the world; those who follow me won't walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. (John 8:12)
Then Yeshua said to those who believed, if you live by my Word, you are my followers indeed. And you will be enlightened by the truth and the truth will give you freedom. (John 8:31-32)
I have come as light into the world that those who believe in me may not remain in darkness. (John 12:46)
For God loved all creation so much, and gave the first and only true Descendant, that whoever believes would not come to final destruction, but would instead have eternal life. For God did not send the Christ into the world to condemn its inhabitants, but that those inhabitants, through Christ, might be saved. Those who do believe in the Christ are not condemned, but those who do not believe in the Christ are already damned, because they have not believed in the name of the only true Descendant of God. And this is their condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light, and doesn't enter into the light because their deeds would be revealed. But those who act truthfully will come into the light, so that their deeds may be clearly seen to have been done in God. (John 3:16-21)
Because of this, we also since the day we heard it, don't cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you might walk worthy of the Christ, pleasing, being abundant in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to God's glorious power, in all patience and forgiving with joyfulness; Giving thanks to Yahweh God, who has made us worthy to share the inheritance of the saints in light: Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has converted us into the kingdom of God's Beloved One: In whom is our salvation through Christ's blood, even the forgiveness of sins… And having made peace through the blood of the cross, by the One who reconciled all things to God; by that One, I say, whether they are things of earth or things of Heaven. And you who were separated and enemies in your mind by your wicked works, God has now reconciled in the body of Christ's flesh through death, to present you righteous and blameless and irreproachable in the sight of God: If you continue in the faith immovable and established, and unapologetic for the hope of the gospel, which you have heard, and was preached to every creature under heaven… (Col1:9-23)
So since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not loose heart. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in shrewdness, nor using the word of God deceitfully, but by the demonstration of the truth entrusting ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God.
But even if our New Word is secret, it is only hidden from those who are condemned, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, or else the New Word of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, would enlighten them. (II Cor. 4:1-4)
