Becoming a Christian

Becoming a christian, demands the sacrifice of time with fundamental lifestyle changes.

Many people like the idea of becoming a Christian, but the title carries with it a certain kind of spiritual accountability, neighbours and friends will gladly welcome a brief introduction to the awareness of Christianity, but for many people that is as far as the idea goes, any further delving into the subjects of Christianity will quickly develop an exit door, and more inconvenient reasons for making excuses, similar to what Felix came up with in Acts 24:25.

So as we look at the negatives first, in hope of viewing the positives later, but initially, Christianity is about following the example of Christ, by applying moral principles in our lives, which could lead to a greater spiritual understanding about the teaching of his ministry. Our main focus of course includes transformation into the kingdom of God.

Becoming a Christian offers a great deal more than just listening to biblical stories, and singing in the community choir, songs about miracles and healing, it is much more than a notion of belief in a supernatural being, or the deity of the Godhead, because while Satan believes that there is a God, and has even served him in the past, with acceptable worship, at present he advocates the darkest atrocities of evil.

In retaliation to his exit from Gods presence, he continues progressing further in displeasure. Satan invites religious ideas with false notions and grand allusions about Christianity, in the affront of rituals, pilgrimage, unrequited monthly fasting, and community events, but his motives are all false, and the observation of religious routine has little scriptural foundations for becoming a Christian.

Felix after hearing about the good news wanted to draw nearer with his wife Drusilla, in anticipation of hearing a softer doctrine, he was sadly disappointed, his heart, soul and body reacted with rejection, Felix wanted to possible hear the gospel for conscience sake or maybe just for curiosity.

But he soon got the shock of his life when he heard the words of God spoken by Paul, who was under the anointing of the Holy Ghost; Felix started to tremble, and quickly made good his escape. Some people would become a Christian but they are offended by the word, and the result is that they are almost persuaded, but that final leap of faith is too enormous to make.

It was to be the same course of action which awaited king Agrippa, who went a little further in listening to the apostle, and was almost persuaded to become a Christian, God requires that those who follow him should be fully persuaded. By becoming a Christian a decision must be made, followed by commitment, belief practice and faith in the God regardless of how mad the world may view the individual.

Agrippa, said unto Paul, Almost thou persuaded me to be a Christian. Acts 26:28

Becoming a Christian goes beyond taking up membership in a local church, it demands the sacrifice of time in fundamental lifestyle changes, faith believing plays a big part in the degrees by which the example of Jesus are carried out, Christianity is proximity to pleasing Christ in our daily walk, it's or a beautiful spiritual convenience, nearer to where the just shall live by faith.

People may go to church and fool themselves into thinking that they are Christians, simply because the partake in Lord supper and feet washing, eating the bread and drinking the wine, not discerning the lords body is more than just going through the motions, it is an application of the mind.

Our fate is made accepted when we accept Jesus as lord and personal savour, Christianity instructs us clearly how to be accountable, and give our best to the creator, our value is not what we can do, but in the masterpiece that God makes us to be.

How to become a Christian is an illustrated life, which begins with a step by step start in conviction of the revelation of the righteous judgement of God, which has been upon man since Adam, culminating with repentance, prayer, faith, Regeneration, Justification, Sanctification, baptism of the Holy Ghost, a state of holy living.

There is only one way to become a Christian. And it is by the example that Jesus and the early church set in place, the plan of salvation has not changed, and it is the same plan that was in force on the day of Pentecost, when three thousand men and women became Christians. The entrance and attitude of mind, is rationalise in discussions and in bible studies.

In a private discourse with Jesus one night, Nicodemus wanted to know more about newness of this interesting salvation, Nicodemus came to Jesus by night, and asking the Rabbi the way by which a person can enter the kingdom of heaven, Jesus replied was not what Nicodemus had in mind, yet it was the kind of answer which led to more questions.

Truly, I say unto you, except a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3. It is clear then, that in order for a person to enter Gods kingdom, the first step is to be born again, not a re-entering back into the mother's womb, but it is down to the working of the Holy Ghost to make the virtues possible.

To be born again into the kingdom of God. No one can come to God except the Holy Spirit draws them, becoming a Christian is a state void of offence towards God, being born again is a real experience, not imaginary illusions, nor doing good works, but, it is the job of the Holy Spirit who places the virtues of the seed of Christ into our spirit.
