Believing Example

Five keys to happiness, peace and abundance.

Believing, Trusting, Giving, Waiting, and Ceasing Opportunity

My daughter came home the other day. She is almost 20 she hasn't been driving for awhile but she use to. She hasn't found a job although she used to have one. She is living on her own but she has never done it before and guess what? She has not gone hungry. She hasn't experienced not having a roof over her head, and she has been getting to places just fine. What has she learned that the rest of the world hasn't?

She learned how to believe, how to trust, how to give and how to wait upon the Lord, and how to cease opportunity. See she knows that God is her sufficiency and strength not other people, a car or a paycheck. She comes home with money all of the time. What is she doing? Well she isn't stealing. She isn't prostituting herself and she isn't selling drugs.

People she knows offer her money to babysit. So she will babysit. Another day she will do Mystery Shopping. Another day she will work at a factory. How does she get there? She will take a bus or find rides. Another day she is offered a job to clean up a back yard and organize it and she gets paid. Other days she may clean a house, or wash and detail a car. So how does she get all these opportunities? She loves to give and she has learned that believing equals receiving and has a cheerful heart to give to others. The other day out of a cheerful heart she went and spent the afternoon with an old woman in a nursing home reading to her and visiting with her. Her kids don't care about her and stuck her in a nursing home. So she went over to the nursing home simply to give of her love and service to this woman. She will often tithe out of the money she receives for these odd jobs as well. God never let's her down. She decided the other day she wanted to come home and spend time with her mom. And so we went out and had a lovely time, a sweet time together. When she went out to the mailbox she found mail for herself. She is always excited about the mail. She found a piece of mail addressed to her. It was a check. A check for 300.00 came. The first thing she wanted to do with that check was to bless her mom. She insisted on taking me to the nail salon to get my nails done along with her, then she planned on using the rest to take care of her bills and other needs. This is the heart of a true champion. God will honor her giving and believing and he will continue to help her make her way with unceasing opportunities as she continues to allow him to direct her paths.

Another gentleman we know does the very same type of things. He claims no address. Why? Well it's a long story but he has not been without a roof over his head either. He doesn't have a vehicle, but he can walk and he can ride buses and often does and he too gets rides. He too believes for opportunities to make money. He does odd jobs by doing handyman work, he often just offers his services because he can and he tithes whenever he receives money of any kind. He too has never gone hungry. He like my daughter has learned these 5 principles listed above. Our God wants to bless us more than we can ever imagine. He makes a way for us.

This isn't the way most people choose to live. But sometimes we aren't always left with a lot of choices. But nonetheless, it doesn't make any difference to our God.

Could both of them be making a lot more money? Certainly. But they have both learned truths about life that the average person never learns. They don't need a lot of money to be happy, at peace and abundant.

A Paycheck, and Money is not our sufficiency in life. Our God is.
