A Unique God.
God the Creator and our heavenly Father is unique. There is only One of Him from eternity past. He decided to make Man in His image, after His own likeness; so according to God’s plan, Man must be different from everything else that He has created, if He is to fulfill Genesis 1:26 and reflect his Maker. God did not intend for Man to be common. Man was the highest of God’s creations. However, Man surrendered his dominion to the subtle serpent, and became even lower than the angels, naturally unholy, defiled and harmful or violent. Man is now common, conceived in sin and shaped in iniquity, BUT God requires him still to be peculiar, so He commands, “Come out from among them, and be ye separate, and touch not the unclean thing.” Just one touch defiles you. It only takes one touch. Be careful!
Girls and Boys Don’t be Fooled
Young girl, do not let the boy fool you with the line that he is asking you to try sin only once. It’s a lying trick of the enemy – it only takes one touch to defile you, and after that not even your tempter wants you again. After he conquers you, he moves on to another prey. Now boys listen, the temptress girl will do the same thing to you, so even if you are a boy, these days you have to be careful also. Even the very thought of evil is harmful, so God says “to keep your heart pure, for out of it are the issues of life.”
Achan
Come out from among them is a command. God is not talking to any and any body. He is talking to His sons and daughters. He knows those who are His. He has set apart the godly for Himself. COME OUT! God wants to receive you back from the pig-pen of sin, shame and disgrace. God wants to deliver you from death and darkness, and to renew His Fatherly relationship with you; therefore, He is calling you to come out of the pig-pen. He is a holy God, and He cannot dwell with the unclean. So you have to come to your spiritual senses and come out. When Achan brought the one Babylonish garment into the Israeli camp, he defiled the entire camp. It only takes one touch, one time; the earth swallowed up Achan’s entire household, including babies and cattle, and close friends. Come out from among Achan and his stuff, and be separate; do not be too close to the unclean thing. It will rub off on you; “shun the very appearance of evil”.
Be Holy and Perfect as the Almighty.
Listen saints, the Almighty God is pure, holy and perfect. He cannot change. We are the ones who changed from how He originally made us. We are the ones who need to be converted. God requires us to be as perfect, pure and holy as He is. He says so. “Be ye holy for I Am holy”. “Be ye perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect”. “Be ye pure even as I Am pure”. Examine yourself and all that’s in you, which is not of God, eliminate it NOW. “Come out from among the unclean, and I will receive you,” saith the Lord. DO IT NOW! And may God bless you always.
