Most of us would define a bright future as being successful. Successful would be, being rich and living happily ever after. But can all of us be confident of this bright future?? Absolutely not!! In fact from history, we know that life is never easy and never will be. It's always been a struggle and always will be. You've got to work hard just to make ends meet! We all live our present in the hope of achieving a bright future but the truth is, only time will tell if we will ever accomplish our goals or not. Not one of us knows what our future beholds!
But I know the truth that promises me a bright future, one I'd have never dreamed of before!
Here is that truth:
Before the foundations of this world were laid, God existed. He was always there.
Psalm 90:2”before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world from everlasting to everlasting you are God”
One day out of choice and for His pleasure, God created man.
Isaiah 43:21”The people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise” He created man and woman in His likeness. He placed them in the Garden of Eden and made them rule over everything. He loved them dearly. He let them eat of every fruit of the garden except for the tree of good and evil. You must wonder why?? It was a mere test and man failed it. Through Adam and Eve's disobedience, sin entered this world and remains even today. All of us are sinful, its our very nature! Romans 3:10”There is no one righteous, not even one”
No one teaches us how to disobey or lie, we just master it. It's sin and it just keeps growing, day by day. As much as we try, none of us can stop sinning on our own. Some of us sin and don't even realize we are sinning but that is still no excuse for sinning!
Our creator, Our God is a perfectly Holy Being and expects us to be holy, like Him.
Revelations 4:8”Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty who was, and is, and is to come”
1Peter 1:16”Be holy, because I am holy”
Because He is Holy, He hates sin and condemns it. Most of you by now must realize that you can't dare call yourselves holy, neither can I. Well if we are not holy, we are sinful, if we are sinful, God cannot love us for He hates sin! Does that mean the very same God who created us for his pleasure now hates us?? No! God loves us but hates sin.
Proverbs 15:9”The lord detests the way of the wicked but he loves those who pursue righteousness”
He was deeply grieved by man's wickedness. The very same creatures that were intended for pleasure now brought sorrow upon Him. Sin separated Man from God. Man kept sinning and finally paid the price for it - death!
Romans 6:23”For the wages of sin is death”
Because of sin, death entered this world. But our Creator God is not only holy and just; He is Compassionate and Loving too. It pained Him to see Man die and He decided to bridge the gap between Man and God once in for all.
The only way to redeem Man was through the death of a perfectly Holy being, One in whom no SIN dwelt. One who was perfectly Pure and Holy. A Man who possessed the exact same qualities our God does-
JESUS CHRIST, His Only Son.Hebrews 1:3”The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being sustaining all things by his powerful word”
Out of His great love for Man, God decided to send His only Son to conquer Sin and unite Man with God once again.
1John 4:9”This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him”
Jesus, the only Son of God, was to be born on earth. WOW!! You must think it was a grand affair! But you couldn't be further from the truth. Jesus, the only Son of God was born to a virgin in a humble stable in Bethlehem, His earthly father, a carpenter. This was all part of God's divine plan for Man's salvation.
When it was time, Jesus went from town to town spreading the word of his Heavenly Father and accomplishing the work He was sent for. He traveled by foot and often had no place to rest his weary head. Like us, He felt hungry, thirsty, tired, He even cried for the dead.
