Each of us faces some form of Adversity. These words are written, to be a reminder that we can never forget the works that God has performed in our past; which will allow us to deal with the present situation of difficulties.
“Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Rea Sea.” In your personal life, is there something so overwhelming, that you find it hard for yourself to depend on God for deliverance? What are you facing in this present time that seems so impossible? Are you going through something that seems like there is no way out? Ask yourself this, “How am I reacting towards my difficulties?” If you find yourself wavering in your faith, falling short towards your goals, or your hope is just fading fast; then you must stop and remember what God has done for you in the past. The reason the people of Israel were wandering in the desert for 40 years was because they forgot all of the things that God had provided for them in their time of need, in their past - this Angered God. (Would you not be angry, would it not bother you; if you did something for someone and they in return, acted like it never happened?) The people of Israel literally saw miracle, after miracle, being performed for them. They witnessed God first hand, like no other group of people on this Earth; yet they still doubted, they totally forgot the Miracles He had performed on their behalf; when they needed those Miracles the most.
God reaches out to each of us in different ways, and one of the ways that He reaches out, is when He brings back the remembrance of His past accomplishments in our personal life. This knowledge is meant to bring comfort to our thoughts and rest to our hearts. If you can honestly look back and remember all of the situations that He has pulled you through, then what you are facing now should not be so overwhelming.
We can never forget what He has done for us; we can never let this kind of Knowledge depart from our thoughts. God is Faithful and True, what ever He has promised, He will surely do; His Word will not return unto Him Void; when the person sending it back to Him, is doing so in the Faith that He's given, read Isaiah 55:11; Ephesians 2:8.
Remember that adversity is going to come to everyone, no matter what they believe in. Trials and Tribulations are a part of life, read 1st Peter 4. Yet, for the individual that has accepted Jesus into their personal life, they are to know that there is a reason for each and every Trial they must face. Without them, there is no spiritual growth; there can be no Victory for them to Experience in Him. To many people are trying to run away from their problems, instead of by Faith, allowing God to bring everything to past, according to His Word. If you keep running from the same situation or difficult time; God will keep bringing it back, until you face it in Him and learn to overcome what He is trying to reveal to you - God is Patient, He has nothing but time, until you get it right. (Smile)
There's a reason for everything in Him, so ask yourself what you are to learn from what ever difficult time you are facing. (Sometimes God allows Adversity to come, to test us; to see how we personally response to that particular situation) Never forget what He has done in the past for you, how He has already delivered you from your past situations; the end result should bring Peace to your Heart and Mind. You should experience the Rest that He has for you, no matter what you may be facing in this current time. As you grow spiritually in this way, you will be able to receive the Deliverance you are asking from Him. But First, He wants to change you from within, so that when you are walking in those days of Joy that's meant for your personal life, you will be walking in those days Correctly -- not Haughty; you will be prepared in your thoughts, and strong in your own spirit; in a position to face the future Trials, which will come.
