Exodus From Worship

Shaking the foundation of dynamic worship.

For a long time in my life I have had many thoughts come my way. Never before have I been compelled to sit down and record them as I am doing now. What I have to say may never reach the multitudes of those who have lost their way, but maybe, a few will read and hear what I have found so important to write about.

What God has divinely inspired me to write will no doubt shake the foundation of what we now think of as “Dynamic Worship”. In the age of rapid pace technology, instant messaging, telecommunication, text messaging, we find ourselves being able to access anything and everything our hearts desire. If we want to know about global warming, world hunger, or simply what the traffic is like at rush hour on I71 we can have it in a millisecond.

How about conversation and opinions? Today there are talk shows 24 hours a day giving you advice from gardening to politics, lifestyles to life choices, and baseball to Carnegie hall. We can’t live without our I pod, cell phone, laptop, or blackberry. We are so driven by accumulating possessions, that our energy drains quickly and our days never seem to end.

So to restore our hope we turn to the church of modern times. Inside the walls of these great cathedrals we recharge with a latte, nourish ourselves with bagels, shop for books of opinion, apparel for the modern day saint, and “Oh yes”, hear a pump me up, for I have a hard week coming, I can do all, I am wealthy, its all in the power of positive thinking, you can do no wrong, God loves everybody, and we are all going to Heaven commentary from the “purpose driven life” book of the newest testament, from the best selling author of “Why God needs my help” book tour! My aren’t we lucky!!!!!

Since my personal life changing experience of accepting the death, burial and resurrection of Christ and asking him to live in and change my heart I have seen a steady decline of true worship of God and living a separated life from the influences of the world and its steady decay of moral values. I call it an Exodus from worship!

Let me clarify a few things. First of all God does love everybody, but he hates sin. No we are not all going to Heaven, unless we have accepted God into our hearts and claim Him as our personal Savior. If you are hungry eat at home or at least in the fellowship hall of the church. Stop listening to all of the talk out there and start reading your bible. Once you get tuned in to Gods word you will find the only opinion that truly matters. Jesus Christ never fit in with the wealthy and on a couple of occasions suggested they part with their possessions and follow him. That didn’t fit the feel good sermon they were looking for . Why do we need a book besides the bible to tell us that we have a purpose. What happened to the great commission? God does not need our help, He needs our obedience. Sing not because the song sounds so beautiful, but that the words speak to your heart. Hug someone instead of coldly shaking there hand. Quit eating so many sour grapes, your Pharisee is showing. Why do you let the Good Samaritans have all the fun.

The bottom line is salvation is not a spectator experience. After all salvation is your free gift. It has been bought and paid for. Why not open it up (Gods Word) read it, study it, love it, let it take you to places you have never been, let it introduce you to people you have never met, let it show you the best routes to take while traveling this journey of life. It has the best advice and the surest answers to all your questions. It will never steer you wrong and it promises that you have first class seats to your final destination. And best of all at the end of your journey you receive a prize.

Be All You Can Be For the Glory Of God. Amen!

Well stated. We need to take a look at our ways and make sure they are Gods ways.
