For Those Who are Gifted

This is for those of us who are gifted. To whom much is given, much is expected.

Romans 11:29 states that, “the gifts and callings of God are without repentance.” This means you can help someone reach God and go to heaven, but you can go to hell yourself. It means that God can and will use anything and anybody to reach those He desires to reach. The Bible is full of instances where God used the unusual to reach a chosen one. He used a burning bush to reach Moses, a talking donkey to reach another and a ray of light to reach Paul. Clearly these examples prove that the gifts are without repentance. For a bush, a donkey, nor a ray of light have a need to repent. Therefore, a dancer, a singer, a preacher, a teacher, a greeter, a nursery worker or anyone can possess the gift to show people God.

I don't believe I have a voice of record-deal quality and frankly have no desire to record. However, my singing possess the gift of ushering God's people into His presence. A few years ago, a psalmist told me that I had the ability to rip the Veil; the ability to go behind the Veil. I didn't understand what she meant at the time, but it sounded Godly so I kept it.

I have a young friend who dances. When she dances, I am, people are mesmerized by her every move. She can be on stage with the most learned dancers and my eyes are always drawn to her because, at some point during her performance, it's just her and God.

When I realized she had the gift, I had a conversation with her. I told her the awesome responsibility of this gift, not really realizing that I possessed the gift myself. People can dance for years and pay thousands of dollars to learn from the best and never possess the gift. For this gift is from God and cannot be taught. I told her how absolutely important her life was off stage. People are constantly watching you. Once someone recognizes the gift on stage, they are naturally drawn to you everywhere they see you. You never want people to miss God. After all, people don't really see YOU during your performance, they see God; you are merely the vessel. Not everyone understands that and because they don't, it is your responsibility, as a gift carrier, that they see God in you at all times.

Always, always, always carry yourself in a manner which is pleasing to God. Don't get caught up in ungodly activities because you never know who's watching you. You never want someone to turn away from God because they saw God on stage in you, but off stage, they see you or hear you being ungodly. It is important that you understand that not everyone knows that the gifts are without repentance. There will be people who cannot receive from a person who has a beautiful singing voice, yet lives an alternative life style off stage. Some people will not be able to receive from a greeter who only speaks to you when he/she is on post. The gifts and callings of God are without repentance; however, you never want anyone to miss God because of you. You have been given the gift, but you've also been given the responsibility that comes along with the gift.

I've prayed many times that God use my voice to build His Kingdom. I had in my mind that in order for Him to do this, I would need to have a record deal or some sort. When it wasn't in my heart to go that route, I felt that God had a different avenue for my voice. I could have not been further from the truth. God had been using my voice all along. Whenever I've thought my performance was an absolute wash, but people come to me and say how they were blessed, that was God using my voice to build His Kingdom.

If you possess a gift of showing people God, then you have the responsibility to show them God in EVERYTHING you do. Whether it is through singing, dancing, playing an instrument, preaching, teaching, greeting, working in the nursery, listening, or anything, you have the responsibility to show people God at all times. I say again, not everyone is going to understand that the gifts are without repentance. Make sure you are not the avenue for someone to miss God because you are off cue.

Wow V...........this is real............I pray I don't allow anyone to miss God through my life on or off the "stage." Your writing has taken such a "turn", it's been amazing to read the progression. Keep it up, it's anointed for such a time as this!!!

Very inspirational words. I am in total agreement. All of us have been given the gift to spread the word of God, all we have to do is use it. I sometimes choose to do in my writing. I have written a poem called, 'When Jesus Speaks' and I think you would enjoy. God is truly the power and the glory and all things combined!

I truly enjoy your writing.
God bless, Veronica.
