Getting Your Church Noticed

Ways to get a new church noticed.

Many times there are several churches throughout a town and everyone knows about them. Other times there is a church that no body knows is there. Either it's nestled in a place that no one travels, or simply the church is new and no one knows they are open. There are many different things that a church can do in order to make their name known by the community. Churches can do events, dinners, groups of any sort, and so much more to get people to see that they are there; to get their name out on the market so to speak.

Events

Events that a church could do could range from being geared towards children to events geared to adults. Some events could be something like a carnival where the games could have a Christian meaning behind them or a contest where the kids color a Christian image. Another event could be a fellowship type thing for men or women, such as a craft show or vendor show. A vendor show would be a day when different catalog based suppliers come and display what they have to offer such as Tupperware, PartyLite, Avon, Mary Kay and more. No matter what event you do, be sure to advertise it so people know its happening.

Dinners

Dinners could have themes, no themes, be used to raise money for the church or a family in need. Many churches in small towns do spaghetti dinners to help raise money for those in need. One church in Ellsworth, Pa called The River Of Life Christian Fellowship hold spaghetti dinners for a camp they host each year and members in the community who need help such as fire victims. Another dinner that could be done could be a holiday dinner for those who may not have enough money to have a wonderful dinner or those who don't have someone to spend the holidays with. It shows that someone in the community is reaching out and cares about them.

Groups

Now groups could be many different things. Rick Warren of Saddleback Ranch in Orange County California has several different small group ministries to reach out to those in the community. Groups like Celebrate Recovery for addictions, or cancer support groups, anything that would support a need in the community. These groups could use the needs as a way of ministering to those who need them. Celebrate Recovery is a Christian twelve step program. Cancer support groups can allow cancer warriors to express feelings they may not want to share with loved ones.

There are many different things that a church can do to get the community to realize that they are there and working to help and improve the community for God. It depends on how the church wants to do this.
