WE ARE HIS
What a strong statement! I'm glad to let you know that we are His no matter the crisis being undergone. God is not just there for us when things are fine. He is for us at all times.
No matter our sickness, problems, trials, temptations, sufferings,
Persecutions, and weaknesses He is there, loving us, redeeming us, protecting us, providing for us, and healing us from all our sicknesses and diseases. We belong to Him. He's our Lord. Please sing these lines of chorus with me.
“I'm glad, I belong to Jesus, I belong to Jesus, I belong to my Lord
I'm glad, I belong to Jesus, I belong to Jesus, I belong to my Lord”
What a privilege for us to belong to Him! What a privilege for us to be His children!
TIMES OF CRISIS COULD BE TOOLS FOR GOD.
If it were in our power to counteract it, none of us would like to go through crisis in life. I must say that times of crisis are not good experiences. They could put us in tension, pressures, stress, fear, hopelessness, bitterness and sadness. It can make us “hot”. There could be physical repercussions. In the spirit realm much more are happening. In God's sight they could be invaluable tools. Through them, we could be drawn closer to God as never before. But we must have that understanding in the first place. In crisis, God wants to manifest His love, power thus show His glory to the world. But it all depends on us.
Also, understand that crisis vary__there are small and great. But gladly, God would never allow us to be confronted by the ones beyond our abilities to handle. As I said a few sentence back, crisis or trials could enable us know God better than before. We can discover Him anew. This reminds me of the story of Job in the Bible. He was tried and knew great crisis in his life. Just like many of us, I believe, had wondered why all that befell him. Infact, Job poured out his feelings and demanded for explanations. There is nothing wrong in letting God know about our feelings and pains, or even demand for explanations. We are just trying to be honest with Him. Surprisingly, in those times, God could appear unattainable or silent. Job's story reveals that. Nevertheless, he trusted God knowing fully that God would see him through Job23: 1-10. Let's share some truths we should know and act upon when in times of crisis.
SEEK GOD.
In times of crisis, we are either led to God or led away from Him. It's a matter of choice and decision. No matter how difficult or unbearable could be our crisis; it's wiser to seek God. Going to His presence would strengthen us to stand firm until the “wind is over”.
FELLOWSHIP WITH THE WORD.
More than just a compendium of nice ancient stories one should know or be familiar with, the Word supplies strength and comfort Psa.119: 50. It would sustain our inner man to keep hoping, trusting and standing. Also, it would help us in making right confessions and not judgemental and justification words towards God, see Job25: 19.
SPEAK TO HIM IN PRAYER.
Prayer would let you connect to Him. Through it, you would let Him know your inmost feelings__whether strength or fear. David is a man that had known several crises in his life. And through prayer he let God know them, and demanded deliverance from them all.
PRAISE AND WORSHIP HIM.
To the natural man, this could be stupidity because there apparently is no reason to do so. But scripturally, times of crisis are the best time to fuel our praise and worship to Him. Through that attitude, you are letting God know that:
- He is always right.
- He is ever faithful.
- He is sovereign.
- Whatever He cannot do no one can.
- He is always at work on my behalf.
- No matter how dark or challenging the crisis, there I always a way out.
THE MYSTERIOUS BENEFITS OF CRISIS IN OUR SPIRITUAL LIFE.
Don't crisis do us harm rather than good? Don't they afflict us with pains? Someone might ask by reading this sub-title. Naturally, there is nothing to celebrate about crisis. But spiritually, we have a totally different deal. Let's briefly share about them.
WE DISCOVER GOD ANEW.
People that know or have known crisis in their lives, have, I believe the better opportunity to know God anew. Infact, these people have tremendous stories of God to tell, the kind that is not commonly shared. No wonder it's said of Job after his crisis “then Job replied to the Lord: I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted.
