God is More Than Just Religion

The call for Christians to seek God for who He really is in the scriptures.

I have come to realize that my knowledge of Jehovah is not just limited, but useless. I have grown up in a nation that prides itself on having knowledge and wisdom, yet with all of our resources, we still do not get it. The Lord's wisdom is not our wisdom, and as a matter of fact, His wisdom is on another level, a completely different dimension. So perfectly accurate is the apostle Paul in stating, "His ways are past finding out." (Romans 11:33)

The box of religion has created an image of God that, for the most part, does not resemble The Lord Jesus Christ one bit. From creation to salvation, we have formed doctrines and fleshly traditions, and have marketed them as God's truth. Jehovah is more than denomination can contain, His ways are beyond what theological doctrine can digest. No matter how many degrees and titles we accumulate, we cannot fit God's mind into our carnal mindset, and to attempt such would be spiritually harmful.

There is a lot of change that remains to be made within the body of Christ in order for the fullness of God's glory to shine in and through His people. There are many cancers that eat away at the church body that we, as that body, must confront and deal with so that we can function as The Lord dreams in His heart. We desperately need to rise and rebuild the city as Nehemiah in ancient times (Nehemiah 2:20) and repair the breaches that have been made.

We live in a society full of spiritual celebrities and biblical welfare. Everybody wants to see His Glory, but nobody wants to see the nail-scarred hands of a crucified and risen Savior. In order for us to experience and understand the Power of Christ's glory, we must first experience and understand the Cross of Christ. As Paul wrote, "I am crucified with Christ, yet I live," (Galatians 2:20) and in another place wrote, "You are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God."(Colossians 3:3). So then, our experience must first be a putting away of the old (Our flesh, and carnal mindset); then, and only then, will we be able to experience the glory of that resurrection power.
