In the laboratory a workman one day knocked a silver cup into a jar of acid. The silver cup disappeared, was eaten by the acid, and could not be found. The question came up as to whether the silver cup could ever be found. The great chemist came in and put certain chemicals into the jar and every particle of silver was percipitated to the bottom. The mass was then sent to a silversmith and the cup was restored. So a precious soul who has fallen into the sink of iniquity, lost, dissolved in sin, can only be restored by the Great Chemist - Jesus Christ only.
It is said that when Emerson attended Longfellow's funeral, he looked down into the grave, and said "I have forgotten my friend's name, but his was a beautiful soul."
In every feast, remember there are two guests to be entertained: the body and the soul. And that which you give the body you presently lose, but that which you give the soul remains forever!
