Is Abortion Murder or Not?

The practice of abortion is a real ethical challenge for all humanity today.

The question of the ethically of abortion will always be a challenge to this and future generations especially in the Christian and Political Institutions internationally.

The trend is not new in that King Herod in the book of St Matthew ordered all male children under a certain age to be destroyed after the wise men went to him and inquired as to where to find the king that was born according to the star that they saw in the East.

He told the wise men to return to him when they have found this king that he may also go and worship him.

The wise men did not return and when Herod saw that he was mocked he committed genocide in order to make sure that one king dies.

Pharaoh in Egypt at the time of the Israelites enslavement specifically ordered the midwives attending to all the Israelite mothers giving birth to cast all the male children into the Nile River.

Moses was one such prospective abortion candidate that escaped the wicked hands of the Pharaoh and rose up to lead his nation out of captivity.

Several months ago I heard a lady confessing on a radio program that she had an abortion in her younger days and had several dreams of the unborn baby boy calling her from somewhere she could not go.

She reported how the child kept saying Mommy, Mommy and the more she heard it the more she wept and felt helpless about what she had done.

It was only when she went to God and confessed her wrongs that she had peace of mind.

Is it possible that there are several mothers out there going through similar experiences?

One will never know.

Many might argue that the unborn is not yet a human being and as a result aborting should not be classified a murder.

God told Jeremiah in chapter 1v5 of the same book that before I formed thee in the belly I knew you and before you came out of the womb I sanctified and ordained thee a prophet.

Jeremiah was called to be a prophet long before his parents even came together. Therefore it stands to reason that God has a plan for every life that comes into this world and any attempt to abort this plan without his approval should be called murder.

Only the giver of life should have the final authority to terminate the life of anyone even when they are in the womb.

Isaac, John the Baptist and Samson were given names before they were born signifying that God considers the unborn child as human being.

Romans 4v17 says in part that God calls the things that are not as though they are. They same way he call the earth into being for a purpose, he calls human beings into this world to fulfill his purpose.

The trees, grass and other members of the plant kingdom has their seeds within them and if they are destroyed the environment will suffer greatly in terms of famine and desertification.

Many children who are to be born in this world are future professionals with specific purposes.

Aborting them will deprive the world of these skills and make it incapable of servicing the needs of humanity.

It could be said that some conception are undesirable and the child should not be allowed in the world.

However Jepthah was kicked out of his father's house because his mother was a harlot. When Israel was in trouble later on he was promoted to be a judge over the entire nation and led them to many victories for forty years.

Only God could know that this was going to happen to a man of such low birth.

David had a son whom they Lord took because of the adultery his servant committed.

This is evidence that only God should make the decision as to who lives or dies and any other who pursue this path should be classified as a murderer.

In going forward prospective mothers should be warned of the danger of the actions that they are taking. One such act can lead to severe mental agony; that is not easily removed from ones system especially where proper council is not available.

It may also be detrimental to the mental constitution of any future child or children emanating from those wombs.

Mothers who murders their children ignorantly and suffers from it may produce children who later become hardened criminals because of the soil that they were born in.
