There isn't enough to be said for interesting churches and effective pastors. One of the biggest reasons some teens and young adults, even Christian teens and young adults, don't go to church is because it's boring. I know, I've been there.
Church services are typically easy to work into a hectic schedule and do not last an unreasonable amount of time, though sometimes it may seem that way. Honestly, who wants to wake up early on their day off of work, school, or whatever it is they do to sit through an hour and a half of preaching that says nothing to them delivered by a man who himself sounds bored?
I consider myself blessed to have found the perfect church for me. The pastor is lively, the members are spontaneous and fun, everybody is so caring, and the actual building used to be a bar! What could be cooler than that? Not to mention the music is so uplifting. I adore my church.
Now, before you go thinking I'm some airheaded teen who has no idea what she's talking about, I do understand that none of the aforementioned qualities should matter too much in a church. (They do though, sorry.) The main reason that I like the church so much is because my pastor's message is usually so touching and close to home that I rarely-to-never wonder what time it is, and my mind isn't on when I get out.
And the church is like a second family to me. Literally. It's amazing to have so many people you can connect with at anytime and they will listen and care. It's one of the best feelings in the world. Right next to asking Jesus into my heart.
I guess all I'm trying to say is that the right church experience can do wonders for a young Christian's life. Making sure you're getting the most from your church can make all the difference in the world. It certainly has for me.
