Jessie's Dream of Jesus

Jessie, an elderly devout lady told me of her dream of Jesus.

A devout Lady

Jessie was a devout church going lady who had a strong Christian faith. She was a straightforward practical down to earth sort of person not given to dreams and fancies. So you can imaging my amazement when she told me the following story.

Galilee

Jessie told me that in her dream she had been transported to the edge of the sea of Galilee. Jesus was there with his disciples. His face, she said, was wonderful. “I have never seen a face like it. It was so real.”

And the children were all there with him too and they were playing with a ball - it was a little ball made of folded cloth. And they were all playing around Jesus and they were happy because he was there.

And then she woke up.

Didn't want to return

And she was crying when she woke up. She was crying because she didn't want to leave Jesus. Sad because she could no longer see him.

But she said how lucky those disciples were to spend so much time with him. This dream really confirmed her faith and made her happy.

Her last words

I remember the last words she said to me after she told me about her dream. She said “Oh I really love Jesus I have loved him since I was three years old.....”

I knew that she did not have long left in this life and a few months later I was at her funeral. But instead of sadness thee was joy and celebration there because we all had heard of the dream and knew that she was back there with Jesus where she really wanted to be..
