Did you ever wonder what God looks like? I have always envisioned Him as a kindly looking elderly gentleman with twinkling eyes, a warm smile, long snow-white hair and matching beard, and dressed in a flowing white robe. We know that God is love and that creation is the ultimate act and consequence of love. We also know that all that has been created by the hand of our Father is equally loved by Him. God created the planets, stars, every creature known and unknown, all things animate and inanimate, all that has ever been, all there is, and all that will be.
Does anyone still believe that life only exists on earth? After filling the entire universe with planets in such vast numbers that they extend beyond our vision and farther than the imagination of man can travel, do you really think God stopped working before finishing the job of creation? That theory makes no sense whatsoever! Man is said to be created in the image of God, but think about it. How can we be so arrogant as to believe that in all the universe--known and unknown, God has made man alone in His image? If I were a Martian, I would be highly insulted by “man's” assumption that he alone looked like my Father.
If you have ever read the stories of people who have had life after death experiences, you know they are similar in detail. They all tell of being in the Light and feeling an overwhelming sensation of indescribable Love and peace. All of those people, without knowing it, have come face to face with our Creator, our Father. The Light and the all-encompassing feeling of Love is God. He has no need of physical form--He is the creator of physical form. He is all images and none at the same time. We do not have to cross over into the next dimension or collide with a near-death experience to see the “Face” of God. God stands before us wherever we encounter pure and unconditional love. You will find Him in the eyes of a loving child, the warm embrace of parents, the affection of a loving and trusting pet. Whenever you feel yourself surrounded and completely absorbed by flawless, unquestioning Love, you are standing in His presence. We do not have opportunities such as these too often. When you do meet up with Him, take hold and hug Him as closely as you can and for as long as you can. Allow yourself to become completely immersed in His healing and everlasting Love.
We have become so entrenched in this transient physical world, that we have forgotten it is only a playground for our Father's children. A playground filled with obedient children, frisky children, naughty children, bullies, and children led by circumstances down a dark and corrupting path. They do not play like the others. Even the bullies are fearful of them. These children embrace a false God. One who thrives on pain and suffering and teaches hate and all things vile and evil. We must resist the temptation to mimic them, follow them, revile them, destroy them, for they are our brothers and sisters. Laws have been established to protect us from the harm they can inflict upon us, but our laws offer only minimal means for rehabilitation.
Prevention is the best form of rehabilitation, because it stops a problem before it begins. Environment is the key to prevention. Parents, caretakers, neighbors, teachers, and clergy, all carry the torch that lights the way for children. If the torch is dropped, the children flounder in darkness and can remain there for the rest of their lives. We must pick up all the discarded torches and relight them. This obviously is no small task. Too many children who have become corrupted by darkness are now among the parents, caretakers, neighbors, teachers, and clergy. However, no one is unreachable. Deep down inside each of them a small spark lies dormant waiting to be ignited. We can relight that spark and make it burn brightly once again by offering love, hope, understanding, guidance, and forgiveness. Once lit, the light rapidly overcomes the darkness and banishes it forever.
The words come easy, but the task is monumental. However, the rewards for success are eternal and everlasting. To begin, one must start at the beginning, and the beginning is with God. Pray to Him, not for yourself, but for those most in need of His assistance that they too may be embraced by His Light and His Love. He always answers our prayers.
