The 10th Commandment

This kind of coveting began long before man became a living being on earth.

This is one of God's tender commandments. Craving is coveting and coveting is craving. This is sinful. What we lack can draw us into lust and lust is sinning when one is not happy with oneself. He or she will covet. The representation to please man is coveting. This kind of coveting began long before man became a living being on earth. It began with Satan coveting God. The only way you can be happy with yourself is to find happiness within. This is a true virtue from God.

You have to provide for yourself. There is a principle at hand in working for yourself and enjoying the fruits of your labor. When one goes outside of God's economy, he or she is setting up a mode of destruction that will consume you. It takes two people to be in a coveting situation. One has to covet the other. It is also very impossible to serve two gods. For instance, people who love money and do not want to share it will die lonely.

What is highly esteemed before us is an abomination towards God because God expects us to be kind. Craving is deceitful and destructive. If you feed your greed, you will always be in need. God has everything in store for you. He will give it to you in His timing. You just have to apply yourself and wait patiently. We are moving away from the things that are valuable such as being spiritual for the things that are not valuable.

As Christians, we should look to God. He is the perfect provider. You should take heed for one does not have life with all the material things he or she possesses. The wise thing to do is appreciate the things that a person has and leave it as such. Our purpose in life is not merely to acquire possessions. It is not contentment that kills us but the desire to acquire more than what we truly can obtain. This is what drives us to death. Do not be haughty or trust in material things.

Wars and fights are also coveting. They destroy the fabric of human existence. Whatever you possess, share it joyfully. Everything belongs to everybody. That is one of our purposes as we occupy earth. It is more of blessing to give than to receive. There is nothing wrong with wanting something. On the other hand, going to the extreme to get it is lustful and that is sinful. Put things into priority and trust God to provide for you. Amen.
