The Decoding of the Beatitudes

The meaning of the Beatitudes found in the St. Matthews Gospel of the canonized Bible has puzzled society since Christ walked this Earth. Chapter 5, Verses 1- 12, give the illustration of these Beatitudes, but mankind is not sure why Christ poured out His heart by reciting these words.

  1. The Poor in Spirit is the redeemed ones who are constantly draining themselves in a spiritual affection towards God. They are the ones that quench their relapsed hearts unto God for His presence. A person poor in spirit lives a God-centered life.
  2. They That Mourn are comforted. These blessed believers always come to God with a broken heart; not for gains but for spiritual acceptance. The mourners are in remembrance of Christ's death and the shedding of His blood on the cross for our sins. They are the ones who constantly praying for the world to change towards righteousness.
  3. The Meeks are the humble believers who understand God's Biblical principles. The Meeks will abolish any resentment and become very submissive to God's sovereign rule. They exemplify this with their patience, love, and peace.
  4. Hunger and Thirst after Righteousness is an expression of persistent desire to be a part of God's kingdom. These individuals will study God's words and keep them in their hearts. The hungry and thirsted people hear the stillness of God's principles echoing and strive after them.
  5. The Merciful is the blessed believers who show act of being pitiful. A person who refers to as merciful often dispenses compassion, easy to forgive another, and offers kindness.
  6. The Pure in Hearts are the holy believers - the ones that lead a consecrated life for God. These individuals deviate from uncleanness (ugliness in society) as they resist the devil. The pure in heart also means to be focused on God, free from any thoughts of deceptions, or any distractions.
  7. The Peacemakers are the law abiders (in spirit). These believers are in contentment of peace within themselves. They will sacrifice war for peace as they will take blames. They look to God as the threshold in any situations.
  8. They that are being Persecuted for Righteousness. These blessed ones stand for rightful living. They will not sin against God in spite of adversities. They hide the word of God in their hearts and know the implications of His promises. They live a God-centered life.
  9. They That Men Revile. These individuals' treasures are in heaven. No mockery, blasphemy, or slander can stand in their way of telling the good news of Christ. They are not afraid to admit being a Christian or a follower of Christ Jesus. They are also not afraid of being persecuted for the sake of the kingdom.
