The Divine Destiny of the Philippine Nation and Its People

How can the Filipino race impact the world, contribute to international progress, and propagate the gospel?

The Philippines is a country full of potential, but at the same time it has a myriad of problems. Violence, terrorism, politics, money, and corruption are among the many problems that this third world nation faces today.

Despite its faults, the country still has a purpose. The Philippines ignites other Asian countries with the light of Christianity, and is fast spreading throughout the world. We can say that the Philippines is a match that sets Asia ablaze when it comes to faith in God and strong moral values.

Christianity is rooted deeply in the Filipino culture as a result of 400 years of Spanish domination. This Christian background has kept the country from being Muslim (although surrounded by Muslim nations, only about 2% to 3% of Filipino citizens belong to the Muslim faith).

Many of the other nations cannot be reached even though there have been countless attempts by foreign missions groups to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Sadly, the Western countries have little chance of accomplishing this, but the Filipino people ought to take advantage of this opportunity to reach the Asian people. Even under the circumstances of poverty and social related conflicts, God is still in control.

Filipinos have the ability to become great missionaries. All over the world, Filipinos are there: in the United States, Hong Kong, Australia, Germany, Canada, etc. In their respective locations, Filipinos have a natural ability to adapt to whatever surroundings they are in. They are respectful towards authority and are easy to get along with. The Philippines is located only a few hours from other Asian nations and this makes it easy for laborers to be sent to Japan, China, Cambodia, Korea, Vietnam, and all the other Asian nations. This is essential for the need of the hour. These qualities make the Filipinos a perfect choice for missionaries. Because of the various reasons mentioned above, Filipinos are in a perfect position to reach other countries.

In summary, the Philippines has a huge potential. It has a purpose that must be fulfilled - to become a country that sends out missionaries that spread the message of Jesus Christ. This purpose must be realized by the local citizens and the government itself. The nation must put aside its troubles and wake up to God's will. They must heed to the call of God because when the Philippines sets on fire, this fire has a capacity to spread throughout Asia and the whole world.
