The Fear of Changing Religion

There are people who do not even want to try something new because they are afraid of the consequences. If only they would trust the Lord, then they will have no problems in pushing through with their goals.

I am Janice and I am a Roman Catholic. For many years I felt that my life was completely meaningless, until I met a friend who is a Protestant. He oriented me with his religion, and he let me join their activities. When I finally decided that I'm gonna change religion, my mother really got angry at me, and told me that she's gonna throw me out of the family if I'll still insist. I asked her to give me the reason for her disapproval but she just told me that she loves me. Should I still be changing religion? Please help me decide.

There are 3 things I would like tot tell you.

  1. Many people are unsatisfied and frustrated due to the fact that they were not able to do the things they want and need. Their primary reason was because they were afraid of the possible consequences that they would be facing. Have faith in the One who created you; let Him be the One to decide what's good for you. With your age, I know the fears you have and that would be: “Where shall I stay?” “How will I eat or drink?”, and “Who will provide my clothes?” Then let me give you verses from the bible that will be answering your questions.

“Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?” Matthews 6:25
  2. If your parents really love you then they will accept you and your decisions in life. But if they will really abandon you, then just remember that there is Father in heaven who wants to embrace you with warms open wide.
  3. If you will ask me if you should change religion, maybe you really should. If it makes you happy and spiritually satisfied, then there's no reason for stopping. But then don't stop persuading your mother to allow you to change religion, it could be that you will also be the instrument of her conversion.

Soli Deo Gloria!

Ones choice of belief is not a light thing. I would suggest that it be based on discernable truths. Since your stating point is Christian, base your beliefs on the Bible.
