The Test

Ones you hear about war you will surely recognize it as fight between two opposing factions. An example of this is the war between the Germans and the Allied Forces in Europe and the Japanese and Americans in the Pacific. Millions of lives were wasted as a result of these wars. But these were just wars of men or Earthly wars. Another war that you may think that is not happening is the spiritual which is between good and evil and is currently in progress.

Christians' main responsibility is to follow Christ's work as written in the Bible. We are obliged to believe in our father - the Creator of the heavens and the Earth, have faith in Him, admit one's trespasses and believe that His love is unmeasurable that He gave His only Son - Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins and give us eternal life. Moreover, it is also our role to let people know about the truth and bring them in - in the ministry of Christ so that they will be brought out from slavery, which is slavery from sin.

Now, when you are doing your responsibility as a Christian, I surely say that you're part of the spiritual war. You are fighting for good against evil and for God against Satan. You are Definitely God's soldier and because of this, you are the main target of Satan's servants or Satan himself. Problems and certain thing that hinder you from working for God oftentimes come to you because of Satan's doing.

As we know it, soldiers in countries are well trained and equipped like the Navy Seals, Marines or Swat of the United States of America and the Royal Air Force or Royal Navy of the United Kingdom. Wars are won by the faction with the larger and best soldiers, best weapons and with the newest and most sophisticated and accurate weapons technology. And because of this, God also trains us by testing so that we will emerge victorious against the dark side. He uses these tests for us to become strong and fit to tackle dark circumstances.

A concrete example of this so called test is the problem that my brother in the ministry has experienced. He is our team leader of our CLP - Christian Life Program, our way of bringing young single men and women to Christ's ministry. A week before our CLP Dedication Day, sort of a graduation day, his father has been brought to jail due to a crime that his father has actually done. He said that, while crying, “ I am not able to look at other people's faces because of what my dad has done but since he is still my father, I must respect him and care for him no matter what he's done.” “I can only be with you, brothers and sisters in the community (SFC - Singles for Christ) because I believe you'll understand and not condemn people,” he also said. He believes that this situation is just a mere trial to soften his heart and willfulness to serve Jesus Christ. Due to this situation, He realized that it's a mistake that you'll just serve God by praying for yourself, family and praising God alone. We need to bring as well as our family members to Christ so that they will be enlightened and could follow the right path. I also believe that this is just a test so that one can realize mistakes and can be used as a specimen for others to watch out or a kind of an eye opener for others.

This I say to you, “Test is there to make us strong against the attacks of evil and to make us realize our shortcomings with respect to our duties for Jesus Christ.”
