“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was
with God, and the Word was God. The Same was in the
beginning with God. All things were made by Him;
and without Him was not any thing made that was made.
In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.” St. John 1:1-4
The Truth of the Word
According to the above verses it appears that all that Man is, hoped to be, and have is the result of the works of the Word. Therefore, “Who/and what is the Word, is an essential question to all mankind. This short excerpt proposes to lay a foundation to the truth to this vital question. All manifestation of the Word is Truth.
Eliminates Evolution Theory
The doctrine of the Word eliminates the theory of evolution, because it says, “all things were made by Him, and without there was not any thing made that was made.” This statement most definitely means that the Word made Man, which includes both male and female. So to answer the “Who” of the Word: He is the Almighty Creator. Because of His designation as the Word, we know that He is a Communicator. Now let’s look at, “What is the Word”? For that answer we go to the apostle John in the New Testament. St. John 4:24 reads, “God is a Spirit.” What is a spirit? A spirit is a real being, alive, yet does not consist of “flesh and bones”. As a Spirit, the Word can assume any image or likeness that He so chooses. And for the creation of Man, He decided to manifest in the same image and likeness in which He made Man. The Word, however, exists in three forms independent of His creations. These are namely: The Living Word, The Spoken Word and The Written Word. In direct relation to His creation there are: The Personified Word and The Manifest Word.
The Living, Spoken and Written Word
The Living Word is God in His ontological Self, which means purely unadulterated. In this state He is invisible to Man. The Bible, the Book, which is authorized to expose God to Man, says that, “He is The Bright Light that no man can approach unto”. If such a feat is ventured it results in the death of that man. The Spoken Word is any thing that the Living Word speaks. Genesis 1:3 records these words, “And God said, ‘let there be light.’” These four words constitute the first words spoken by God regarding creation. Including in the Spoken Words are all the words spoken by Jesus Christ, or any words spoken by God through the mouth of any of His created beings. When a prophet of God truthfully declares, “Thus saith the Lord,” that is also the Spoken Word. Once God spoke through a jackass to a prophet; and Jesus threatened that if the parents who were present when He rode into Jerusalem on a colt of an ass, prevented the children from praising the Lord, then the wood and the stones would immediately cry out in praises. Had the wood and stones spoken, that would definitely be the Spoken Words of the Lord. The Written Words are any word of God that is written down. Therefore, “Let there be light,” is also an example of the Written Word, because it is recorded in the Bible. Once in the Chaldean palace God’s own Hand wrote a message on the wall, declaring king Belshazzar’s, demise. (Daniel 5) God also wrote the original Ten Commandments on two stone tablets for the Children of Israel, in the presence of Moses on Mount Sinai.
The Personified Word
The last two manifestations of the Word of God are very exciting. The first, the Word Personified, is the Word of God dwelling or having active residence in the body, mind and soul of a man. When one reads the Words of God it enters the mind. If he continues to meditate on it, it takes permanent residence in his spirit. Yes, Man also consists of spirit. It is by that means that he can communicate with, and understand the Words of God. However, because the Words can be stolen by the devil from the mind, or simply be forgotten by the natural mind, the Words need to go beyond the mind and penetrate the heart or the soul. This takes places when the man consciously decides to believe the Words. It is a bit more secure in the heart, but there is still another dimension on which to settle the Word, it is in one’s bones. This is accomplished when one does the Words. James 1:22 say that, it is not “hearers” of the Words that are saved from eternal damnation, but “doers”. When the Words get into one’s bones, and he is a natural doer of the Word, then such a man is recognized by God as the Word of God Personified; and all that the Word is, is contained within his mortal body.
The Manifest Word
And the last presentation of the Word that I would like to mention here is the Manifest Word, which is Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God. He is the only person that was born on the earth independent of human conception. There was a young girl named Mary in the city of Nazareth, whom found favour in God. He caused her to conceive without the intervention of human sperm; she brought forth a Man Child, who was called The Christ, the Anointed Saviour of the world. In English His name is Jesus. Jesus Christ was The Living Word in a body of flesh, with bones. He became as one of his own creations. This manifestation was for the purpose of redeeming Man from sin and eventually eternal damnation. This was a great price for the Word to pay; but the wicked adversary called evil had captured Man, whom He loved so much, and He had to come and rescue him. Oh how He loves us!
Let the Word of God Dwell in YOU Richly
Won’t YOU fall in love with the Word today, and allow Him to dwell within YOU? If YOU submit YOUR body as a living sacrifice and become His temple, YOU will reign eternally with Him on His throne in heaven? I will leave that question with YOU. The Word of God deserves YOU.
