What Is and What Isn't

Have you ever claimed what you truly didn't possess, or ever thought you had, what you truly didn't own? Well, then this work should help to clarify the Truth between possessing the Fruits of the Spirit and imitating them.

Determining the Difference between Possessing the Fruits of the Spirit and the Copy Cat

The Fruits of the Spirit are not actions that the flesh can perform or emulate successfully. And any attempt to do so is pure deception. The fruits are inward manifestations of the spiritual harvests reaped by seeds sown in our daily sacrifice of self and practice in the Word of God. The flesh can imitate, without truly possessing. The flesh’s copycat version only lasts temporarily through moments in life when it is feasible for our finite minds to exhibit these particular mannerisms.

Proof of Possessing the True Fruits

For instance, the flesh can imitate joy without truly having the spirit of joy. The spiritual power of joy allows you to transcend in gladness over every strife and wrongdoing and it remains during and after the unfortunate occurrences. It is not fleeting or easily overwhelmed. But, the copycat version flees once you are discomforted by something or someone; vanishing without leaving behind a trace, as if it never existed.

Christians: True Possessors

As a Christian you have the Word, which carries the seeds that will bear the fruits of the Spirit. We are given the tools to access the true fruits. And, it is by our devotion, practice, and sacrifice that we will possess the Spirit, which will bear those fruits. They are God’s gifts to us, His promise of undying love and devotion. They are our proof of our right-standing with Him, and protectors of our existence with Him. Imagine how sweet life can be when we can laugh in the midst of misery and love in the storm of hate. As true possessors we have been given power immeasurable and favor unimaginable. We have the gift, we have the power. We are the true possessors! So, then why is taking us so long to claim it?
