When Ester was queen, Haman wanted to execute all the Jews. Ester, had the courage to stand up to Haman and save her people. She risked her own life so that others may live. She spoke to King Xerxes about the matter without knowing how he would react to her outspokenness. God gave her the strength and ability to do so. Her words were “If I perish, I perish!” She couldn’t remain silent when Haman was conspiring to get rid of all the Jews, even Ester even though she was queen.
She cared more about other than her own well-being. She didn’t worry that she could have been killed, only that others would be saved from death. She was able to keep God in her life and all of her actions. Ester’s life shows that God is there to protect those who follow him. She didn’t worry about the consequences to her; she had faith that God will see her through. She was willing to die for what she believed in and for God.
Many times today, we don’t trust God for protection or strength to do various things. We tend to not stand up for religious beliefs for fear of rejection or ridicule about it. We Christians need to ask ourselves several questions:
How often do we stand up for what we believe in, whether it’s God or something else?
How often do we trust that God will carry us through our hardships and trials?
Do we trust that God will see us through anything, or do we worry too much about how our lives are effected by the trial?
Are we like Ester and don’t think twice about doing something that God wants us too?
Do you trust God with everything in life?
Better yet, are you willing to die for God?
