Reading an article in a city's Sunday paper recently was interesting to say the least. With Halloween coming, I suppose this pagan holiday has special meaning to some. For most , it is just a candy giving, dressing up, party time that children are to enjoy. A "witch " is defined as "one who practices socery." In former times,and still today, they are misunderstood and condmmended in places all over the globe. As a reference, I used The Holy Bible. Why is there so much secrecy about pagans and witches today? King Saul made a law forbidding ghosts and familiar spirits or consulting witches. There was a holy man named Samuel and He was a prophet of G_d. Samuel died. King Saul was king at the time and was in trouble with a neighboring nation. So King Saul desguised himself and took with him two men to an unnamed female witch in a city called En-dor. She called up Samuel's ghost.
Samuel was upset to be bothered. Yet, He told the King that G_d was angry because He did not obey Him(G_d). Then, Samuel said David, one of The King's warriors would take his place as King and Saul and his Sons would all die the next day. All of this came true. G_d was angry and refused to speak to that King by prophets,oracles. or dreams. Most witches worship the Sun or Moon, a creation of G_d and in Deuteronomy 4:19, people are to worship only the One true Holy G_d,( not what He created). Witches believe in a first man and woman. Not Adam and Eve though.Eve means Mother of all living. And the serpent in the garden of Eden was a real snake with legs and strong. G_d was mad at Adam for leaving Eve unprotected when that snake spoke and told her to eat the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and she did. Back then, animals spoke and G_d did too-directly to anyone or anything he desired. He still is able. Witches call the first wife of Adam Lilith. In Judaism, this is a Hebrew word for "a type of demon." G_d was sorrowful that He even made mankind, (they had become so evil), so He caused it to rain all over this globe for 40 days and 40 nights. He gave favor to one man and his family and all kinds of animals, clean and unclean. After the Flood, man became meat eaters instead of vegetarians.
Maybe you know some that are vegans today. G_d is a Heavenly Father who punishes those He loves as children and we are made in His image. We are given free will and a conscience to choose right and wrong. Angels are real and they are not to be worshiped either. G_d has mercy as a character trait and all of Creation belongs to Him. What can we give to one so wonderful that gives us life and food and families, not to mention all the other things humans can do? G_d is so Holy if He came to you it would be like the Sun in your face. He gave us Commandments to protect us. He gave us His Word in the form of a book on How to live. True Christians are not afraid of witches. Prayer is petitioning G_d for things like better health and such. Speech is powerful. Spells are not the same as prayers. I never knew a witch to call up or speak about Satan-the evil one-they know better than to give him power or glory. No human or Diety has any power to do anything that G_d does not see or know about for he made us.
