Comments regarding how my faith in God has helped me through the recent tough economic times, and sobering world situation.
As the recent economic meltdown took place on Wall Street and so many lost their life savings and means for providing for their families, I was forced to look inward. What did I have to hang on to? I received strength where I always get strength...from my faith in God and his ability to sustain me in difficult times. My faith is not just empty platitudes, but a real sustaining force in my life based on the truths of God's word, the Bible, and on my own personal experience having been a believer since my early childhood some 50 years ago. I have found it very comforting to know that my God can be trusted even in the most difficult of times. As Jesus said, "My peace give I unto you, not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." What a blessing my faith has been this Thanksgiving season, and during every season, even during the frightful Wall Street meltdown. My hope is that your faith will sustain you also, and that we will all reexamine ourselves for what is really important in life, and face the future unafraid knowing where to look for strength.
