Was there an apple in the Garden of Eden?

The power of tradition has formed in our minds that the serpent in Genesis stood on his tail, and spoke words. The serpent did seduce Eve.

There stood in this beautiful garden created by God, a naked woman. A creature more subtle than all the other creatures gets Eve to partake in a forbidden fruit (a shiny red apple). After eating this apple she realizes she is naked. She gives her husband (Adam) and he partakes in the forbidden as well. He also realizes at that time, he is naked.

Shame causes them to hide from God their creator. Eve blames the serpent, Adam blames Eve, and it is God's fault according to Adam because He gave him Eve.

And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2: 9).

And the Lord God commanded the man (Adam), saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: (Genesis 2: 16) But the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (Genesis 2: 17).

God mentioned nothing about an apple; therefore, where did the apple come from? The serpent said to Eve in Genesis 3: 1; Yea hath God said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? Eve replies in verse 2, and the woman said unto the serpent. We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden. Verse 3 Eve continues. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden (the tree of the knowledge of good and evil), God hath said, ye shall not eat of it; neither ye touch it, lest ye die.

Eve adds to what God what God said, (neither ye touch it), so where is the apple?

"so where is the apple?"

I've got it. Came across it at a car boot sale a couple of weeks ago.
