Are People Born Without a Soul 2?

As we know there are many people who do unspeakable acts and don't show any remorse for their actions. Are there people in the world born without a soul?

People who believe in God, and feel remorse for actions that they know are wrong have a soul. Also, people who decide that they will murder, rape, or steal without remorse might not have a soul. For example Adolf Hitler. As we all know he started World War II, and killed millions of Jewish people without even flinching. Can you honestly say that Hitler has a soul? I don't think so. He might have had a soul when he was younger, but he never nurtured it, so he ended up losing it. Or he just never had a soul in the first place. We will never know.

People born without a soul could also explain Atheism. Atheists don't believe that God exists; they believe that when they die they will just rot in the ground. Something to that extent. Also, Atheists need scientific proof to believe in something. The main reason why they can't believe in God: there is no proof of his existance besides many miracles that he has performed. It is said that people with hope that they are going to live actually live through sicknesses and things that they shouldn't, and vice versa. If you don't believe or hope that you will live through sicknesses or things that you shouldn't, most likely you will die. Atheists believe that whatever happens happens. It doesn't matter if you are alive or dead. They have no hope and they lost their power to believe, which makes Atheists generally unhappy, depressed, and arrogant. Remember there are always exceptions to every rule.

Also, I think that Atheists can be born with a soul and then somehow discard it along the way and get their soul back. For example, you can be born into a christian or a caring family and then turn Atheist. You might have started life with a soul, then discarded it once you figured that you couldn't believe in God because you couldn't see him. But, even though you can't see your brain, does that mean you have one? Then, you talked to someone and figured that you are missing out on the power to believe. Once you turn back from God, your to believe is gone, and you aren't as happy as before. You can get that power to believe back only if you believe that there is a higher power out there somewhere.

I believe everyone has a soul. You can never lose it because it's part of your being. Those people you referred to as heartless, they have a soul but they chose not to listen to their conscience. Free will is the term, right?

I happen to be a very light-hearted, well-educated, open-minded, extremely happy Atheist. I work to help others and have respect for individuals of all different religions, races, and backgrounds. I wouldn\'t consider myself soulless, but rather an individual who BELIEVES that religions help show individuals and societies what values and practices will help the majority and keep order and peace. For example, instead of the savior, Jesus was a social activist. The soul is really just another way of saying how you feel for society. If you pent up your anger and express hatred, your soul probably isn\'t doing too well. But if you are willing to accept, love, forgive, help, and understand, your soul is doing well. This is what makes individuals and even large groups of people extremely happy...and you don\'t even need to pray for a higher being not to smite you down with thunderbolts.
What does disturb me is how individuals who represent themselves as being part of a specific religous affiliation will attack and discard those who disagree. In your statement, you claim that \"Atheists (are)generally unhappy, depressed, and arrogant.\" Where is the study to support this? Or was it something you read in the Bible? If so, where? I think it might help if instead of trying to find all your answers to life\'s questions in a book, you might want to talk to those actually living life - you know, other people. Like I said, I\'m an Atheist, but I\'m pretty sure not judging others is a better way to get into heaven.

Thanks for the comment! I really enjoy hearing your point of view. As you can obviously tell I haven't talked to too many atheists, but the ones I've talked to are some of the most unhappiest people i have ever met! So that was just a general observation...not a rule...sorry.

Thank you again for your opinion i truly appreciate it! You've definitely changed my views on most atheists!

I follow your arguement here but I still say that everyone has a soul. It is part of a person, their spirit, their being. A soul can be healthy and good, or neglected and bad, dirty, or damaged. It is those with the damaged, neglected souls that do such bad things. At least, that's how I see it!

As for atheism, your theory is really interesting and I can see your reasoning. You are a brave lady to come out and say those things directly. No doubt you will get more comments like 'annon' wrote, but that's what being a writer is about...getting people to think, react and take part! Great job.

Thought provoking articles, Alexa. I enjoyed both of them.
I would like to throw out some thoughts they have provoked.
Is it God/a god who makes a person happy, or teaches right from wrong? I find that quite a stretch. I do believe that religion has had a significant impact in the shaping societies and cultures, but I would argue that that is not always a good thing.
Did the torturers/executioners during the Spanish inquisition have souls? They did their work in the name of God, right?

Your definition of soul, I would use to define 'conscience'. I believe the conscience is defined by family, culture, experiences. I do believe some people have mental defects that don't allow them to feel empathy, and therefor can be considered to have no consience, but to me that's a physical fault, not a spiritual one.

Perhaps it would be best to see what the Bible has to say about the "soul" you speak of...In Genesis 2:7, there is a "math" equation that drives math teachers crazy:

1 + 1 = 1

1 body plus 1 spirit (also can be breathe) equals 1 soul...

A key word here in the King James Version Bible is that Adam "became" a living soul (some versions say being)...This opens the eyes to many....The text does not say man was "given" a soul, but that man became a living soul...

The Hebrew word for spirit here could be spirit or breath, meaning breath of life that was received of God..

Question: Once God made Adam's body, was it perfect?...Of course it was...But, it was not "alive"...When God 'breathed His spirit into his nostrils' then Adam "became" a living, breathing soul...Get it? 1 + 1 = 1....Easy...

Excellent article, I must say firstly. Nevertheless, you say that atheists lose the power to have belief. This is only in relation and context to religious matters. By philosophical terms, the fact that one is an atheist eliminates the possibility of him or herself in actually considering the matter of religion; therefore, he or she will have certain 'other' beliefs or moral standpoints. I must point out that people are able to believe in countless things aside from religion itself. I, for example, follow a set of strong morals which guide me in life, rather than scripture. These morals have helped me, in my opinion, more than any religious belief has ever done so. My point is that atheists are not restricted in their entity to believe. Rather, atheists are actually more abstract in their thinking. They believe that of which is proven and shown to be true, rather than those which are figments of belief.
