Communicating with God

There is a severe decay in the mental fabric of most human beings that wasn't there too long ago. In the westernization of the world, its inhabitants have become increasingly arrogant, and they want to find out how they can grow in power, strength, and accomplishment.

Is it Natural? Far too Natural, I'm Afraid

However, to communicate with God, one must not take this approach. However, to fully understand why, we must talk about which god we wish to communicate.

One God

Despite popular opinion, and potential scrutiny, I am going to talk to you about why there is only one TRUE God, and who he (yes HE) is, and why communicating with him is impossible for man alone.

Yahweh: The God of the Jews and Christians

We live in a world that is held together by principles. Of gravity. Of moral decisions. Of rational thought and reason. There MUST be one single God to whom this is all credited to. They must be stable in order to exist. One (singular) God must be the author of them in order for them to remain stable. Otherwise, good and bad would be the same, and moral fabric would untie.

Multiple gods, as in polygamy, offer no stability; therefore, no reason or logical decisions can be made because one god is incomplete, and the other is incomplete. This makes a stable world with stable principles in place impossible.

If you look at all other gods, there is only one rational decision to be made as to why monotheism is the most logical basis upon God-ship. All other gods are incomplete, and have no ability to have faith or stability in.

Why is Yahweh the only one God, and not Allah? Imagine a stable God. Stability and dependability are attributes of a true single God. A singular God cannot be both good and evil, or else there would be no moral basis for what we see as good and evil.

Allah hates some, and loves a special few. There is favoritism, and partiality, which would mean his judgments would be slanted and unfair toward everyone based on their own works and deeds, and not on their hearts. This “God” is saying that imperfect people can become perfect based on what they do. Compassion, if authored by a singular God, must also flow FROM a singular God.

Yahweh is both righteous and compassionate. He is just AND holy. However, he loves and shows grace. He is impartial as a good father, and is loving as one who wants to be with those whom he loves for ever.

His decrees flow from him, not from just what he wants. He recommends to his followers the things that please him because they please him, not because he is selfish and wants his followers to “do things” for him. It is a relationship of righteousness, of humility toward God, and a bold one in faith that he is loving.

Yahweh has personality. Throughout his testimony written in the Bible, he shows that he does have a flawless personality that is rich in mercy (which he desires) and craves obedience (because he is for us - wants our benefit). His commands are always out of his desire for us to do what he does. He never commands us to do something he is not. He does not hate (as the world hates - out of petty selfish ambition - but out of true, impartial judgment) because he is all love.

He wants us to hate evil. Because he hates evil. He wants us to love good because he loves good. However, there is one problem:

Human Nature does not Love Good Naturally

This is what hinders us from communication with God. Communicating with God was easy before sin. He walked with humans, he talked with them, and he was face to face with them.

Sin is the Only Thing Strong Enough to Hinder Communication with God

To say that what we do (as imperfect people) is perfect enough to communicate with Righteous Yahweh is presuming that we do not need him to show us how to be perfect or holy. And that is saying we are stand-alone, and a god in our own right; which is idolatry. That is detestable to God.

So How, then, are We Able to Communicate with Him?

Therein lies the problem, and solution. God knew that sin would forever create a wall and divide between those whom he loved, and those who wanted to love him. Nothing on earth could ever separate his love from us, but the sin would separate us from communion with him.

So he Had a Plan: Jesus

This is where it gets really beautiful. A righteous God, whom created the earth and sustains it with absolute wisdom, sent his only son (as a sacrifice) to earth to be slaughtered for our sins.

Jesus became sin for us, and took on the righteous wrath of God upon his own body so that we could be forever done with the sin and death that came from the fall of Eve in the garden.

Our Communication with God is Sealed in Christ

There is no way we can present ourselves perfect enough to stand in front of God. Jesus, however, took on the image of a man, but in him dwelled the fullness of God so that we might be completely forgiven in the sight of Yahweh.

He is ALL of the sacrifices in the Old Testament that had to do with guilt, sin, and shame. He was cursed so that we could be blessed. He was killed so that we could live.

It Was the Ultimate Display of Love that Only God Can Show

If you want to communicate with Yahweh on a personal, and deep level, you must go before him with Christ as your atonement of your sins.

Jesus must be your Lord, directing your life in the way he desires you to live, so that you may be made holy through the Holy Spirit whom he sent to help us in times of trial and desperation.

The only way to communicate with God is through his Son, Jesus Christ, the reason we are all alive, and God's kindness sustains the world so that all would recognize him.
