God in Jonah is mad at Jonah because he did not obey his laws. If I didn’t obey God’s law I would feel terrified of not obeying someone who is greater and gracious than me. Jonah does not accept God’s call and he goes off to Tarshish, a land where he wants to escape to. I would also never want to not accept God’s call. If God called upon me to deliver his message I would do it although their maybe some hardships. When Jonah is at sea his ship gets into a storm.
This storm was caused by God and Jonah was sleeping at the bottom of the ship. He felt nothing, and all of the members on board the ship woke Jonah up and questioned him. They found out that he was the cause of all this. This shows that God is a great and powerful God and that anything is possible. Finally Jonah gets swallowed by a fish and then he gets out of the fish and accepts God’s call. When Jonah goes to Nineveh the people there repent to God and therefore there town was not destroyed. When Jonah was in the desert God provided him with shade so that he wouldn’t feel hot. Once the shade, plant was gone Jonah got angry at God and he wished he would die. This shows that God’s power is heard by all of the people when they repented. God is a great God and he is merciful.
