This journey is down a road less traveled, but so rewarding because you appreciate life for what it is at the end of this journey. It is raising yourself from the hole you can sometimes bury yourself in. At times this is not a self-made hole but one that you've been delegated to by family and friends. You learn to give value to not only your own life but to those all around you as you follow this path. You learn to smile and trust again. Why is that so hard you might wonder. Well, how many times have you tried and been rebuked? It isn't easy to keep trying. GOD expects you to keep trying though and if you love GOD then you obey and you trust. GOD also expects you to forgive. He leads you down a rough rarely traveled path with many pitfalls that you must beware of. You must not be afraid because you are not alone. You must know he is there at your side at all times. If GOD puts you through the fire it's for you to learn to trust him in all things. What value are you to him if he cannot trust you. If you trust completely in the Lord, then he knows you will always do his will, even at the expense of your own needs or wants.
The JOY that is instinctive in serving the Lord is ever present, because when you serve the Lord you actually serve yourself. This instinct is always present because your old soul remembers its true purpose. The purpose GOD created you for. You see yourself in a different world. It is a magical world where everything is possible through Christ, the Lord. He is your friend, your mentor, your companion, and your advisor. You are truly fulfilled in obeying him.
What if you slip up? We all slip up once in a while. The important thing is to recognize it for what it is, to ask for forgiveness and then to repent. The devil has his sly ways of attacking you. He puts doubts and fears in your head. Pretty soon you are obsessed with those fears. That is when you must recognize. Fears are of the devil. You must overcome and rise above the challenges. All of this, you can do, only with GOD's help. It is a war zone, but to be GOD's perpetual servant you must meet the challenge. You must realize that in everything you can ask GOD. You can ask him to give you the strength to see you through a rough day at work. You can ask him to see you through depressive attitudes. You can ask him to return your joy. You can ask GOD when you see friends acting in strange and hurtful ways. He reveals things to you that you might not have looked at in that perspective before. He reveals when friends or family have fears that come from the devil. This is why it is such a dangerous path at times. Bccause it is hard to recognize when you are justified in being afraid or when they are thoughts that are put there by the devil to trick you. In our ministry there is a song that says: “Don't let the devil ride with you because he will take the reigns.” This is so true. You cannot let fears overcome you. It is so easy to fail if you do because they take over and don't let you see reality for what it is.
GOD will also lead you to people who can teach you to be a better christian. The church I attend now; “Calling All Christians” has some very amazing loving Christians because they truly try to obey and help each other as true Christians. Many times when my “faith” was winding down and I felt truly tried and defeated, they would teach me to stand up again and to try anew and not to let myself fail. The devil can always be defeated if you have GOD with you. The fears the devil puts in your thoughts don't let you see the opportunities that GOD has for all his people. You must believe in GOD and all his promises for you in order to make it in life. All things are possible through GOD. When you truly know this is when you have really reached the pentacle of “faith.” It is truly an amazing journey, this journey into faith, but one that is truly worthwhile in the end.
