The richest man in the world
The richest man the world has ever and will ever know is King Solomon. He is also the wisest man to have ever lived. He had wisdom in abundance and gold and silver plenty. He however was not a perfect man. He had his own share of failures and mistakes. So he left us some useful lessons concerning wisdom and riches for those that will come after him. If I want advice about money the guy I should be listening to is definitely Solomon.
Lessons from the richest man
Some of those lessons are well documented in the Bible. Only a fool will refuse to learn from those who have gone ahead of him/her. Riches are good but what sustain your life are not the riches you possess. Gold and silver is good but do not put your trust (depend on, lean on, rely on, put confidence in, put hope in). You can be rich and have all the money you desire but money is useless on the ultimate Day of Judgment.
Money sure has its limitations despite the advantages its possession gives to its owner. Hey listen to Solomon for he has seen it all and if anyone should know it is him. You can have money but you should not make money your god. Money will not save. Only God can save.
Solomon would have us to know that money is good but it cannot do all things. Only God can do all things so trust God not gold. Money is a servant but a lot of folks have turned money to be their master. In case you have not noticed money not a good master.
Is gold your god?
You can have money but make sure you have God. A rich person without God is a rich fool. Money is not everything and everything is not money. It is okay to have money but you must trust God. Money can fail but God can never fail. If you trust in gold you will fall. In this life you can get gold and miss God.
The best and wisest thing to do is for you to in all you do get gold (money) but make sure you do not miss God. If you get gold and miss God you are likely going to lose the gold because you need God to sustain you and even give you the power to enjoy what you have gotten.
And if you make gold your god you are likely going to end up miserable and frustrated because money doesn't necessarily bring happiness or fulfillment. I am sure you have heard it said before that “the rich also cry”. If you trust (lean on) gold rather than God you will fall because gold (money) will fail at one time or the other. Hear ye wise counsel from King Solomon. Trust God and not gold.
